With the PurpleTrail Design Center, it’s easy to print to print your greeting cards, invitations, and announcements.  You’ll definitely want t keep a few things in mind as you set up your printer to get the best printed card results.  Whether you are your goal is to print a 2 sided postcard or a 4 sided folded card, we’ve put together some best practices to help you print your best possible design.

So you have your design, and you are ready to print.  There are a few thing to think about so that you can get the best results for your printed cards.  These are general images, the specifics settings for your printer may appear differently but these are good guidelines to look for.

The main things you want to look at in your printer settings are:

  • How to load your paper- (test orientation so you print on the correct side)
  • Printer is set to highest resolution
  • The paper size is correct for whether you are printing
  • Photo printers will support borderless printing, other printers may not so your cards may have a 1/8 to 1/4 border.  You can easily trim this away if needed.
  • Choose the correct medium source (photo paper, card stock etc.)

Other things to keep in mind if using an inkjet printer:

  • Make sure the printer cartridge heads are clean. 
  • Let the paper dry completely before printing on backside
