This is a darling idea from designspongeonline.com. It uses simple materials for big results. This “sprouting shelf” it the perfect addition to an office or kid’s room. It’s a great project to work on with older kids too. Start with a shelf you’d like to decorate and use the following materials:
bailing wire 
styrofoam balls of various sizes and .5″ thick styrofoam sheets
small oval cookie cutter (or any desired shape)
acrylic paints
paintbrushes
wood shelf
cupcake liners
drill with smallest drill bit
hot glue
wire cutters
Then you go to work creating your flowers and stems to adhere to your shelf. See design spongefor complete instructions. What you are left with is a beautiful shelf to hang and display your favorite pictures or knick knacks on. Happy crafting!
