Moms are some of the hardest working people out there. They work inside the home, outside the home, and organize the the family to make sure everyone knows where to be when. Mothers Day is definitely a day where it’s all about mom and celebrating all she does for your family. The two most important things about planning a Mothers Day celebration is to choose something that appeals to her interests and that she doesn’t have to worry about any of the details. The day should be stress free and relaxing for her! We’ve put together some great ideas to help you plan fantastic Mothers Day celebration this year!
Mothers Day Breakfast, Brunch or Dinner
Whether it’s breakfast in bed, a brunch or dinner bringing together her favorite people and foods, you can’t go wrong cooking for mom! Just make sure she doesn’t do the dishes! You can also plan a brunch or dinner outing at her favorite restaurant. Just make sure you make reservations several days in advance.
Picnic
Plan a perfect picnic for mom at a beautiful setting. Check out your local parks, lakes, or wineries in your area for some inspiration. Think of places she would like to spend the afternoon. Pack all her favorites snacks and spring for a bottle of champagne or quality sparkling cider. She’ll love the thoughtfulness of planning a day just for her. Day Trip
Why not plan a day trip for mom to some place she’s been wanting to go? Maybe it’s to a museum exhibit she’s been wanting to see, or a hike on her favorite mountain. Pick something she either loves to do or has been talking about wanting to do. You could also plan a day out with her girlfriends, maybe to a movie and lunch or a day at the spa. Maybe she just wants the house to herself and you arrange a day trip for the kids. The key is to plan all the details for a day she’ll enjoy and doesn’t have to worry about any of the planning.
Weekend Getaway
Maybe mom needs a whole weekend, not just a day! Most moms are notorious for putting themselves last on the list so planning an entire weekend just for her is sure to be appreciated. Decide what kind of getaway is best: family, romantic, or just mom going someplace to relax! If you are planning a romantic getaway, make arrangements for the kids well in advance so she doesn’t have to stress about it. Maybe the whole family is due for a fun outing to the new resort at the beach or in the mountains. Whatever it is, make it about mom. She deserves some R and R!
If you aren’t sure what to do for mom this year, ask her how she’d like to spend a whole day dedicated to her. If you can’t get an answer from her, start paying attention to what she says. She’s bound to throw out something she’s been dying to do. It’s doesn’t have to be a big production, it just has to be thoughtful! Happy Mother’s Day!
