Let freedom ring! Having a 4th of July gathering is something many look forward to all summer long. It’s a day to be thankful for all the freedoms that come with being an American and enjoy family, friends and summer great summer foods. Fresh fruits and burgers hot off the grill, fireworks illuminating the sky…Why not wrap up you party by sending your guests home with some great 4th of July party favors? Here’s what our party experts suggest:
- If meeting friends for a parade, consider handing out small American flags to wave during the parade. Then the guests can take them home and use them as decor for other patriotic holidays.
- Kids love getting little trinkets and toys. Fill cellophane bags or little boxes with flag and star stickers, self inking star or flag stamps, temporary tattoos, and of course a little something sweet!
- You can also make favor bags for the kids with balloons, crayons and fun patriotic jewelery tucked inside.

- For a really sweet treat, take small clear cellophane bags and layer red, white, and blue jelly beans.
- Decorate small potted plants with patriotic ribbons for guests to take home.
- Decorate baskets in a patriotic theme and fill them with a few fresh herbs, fruits of vegetables that are in season.
- Create of thank you cards with a patriotic theme to send home with your guests. It’s creative and practical!
- Create a bouquet of sparklers and tie 4th of July themed ribbon. Give the bundle to your guests at the beginning of the party with instructions that they’ll be used later in the evening. Ask each guest light their sparklers once it gets dark!
