April Showers bring May flowers! Spring has sprung and it’s time to get out and have some fun. Gather up the troops and start enjoying longer days and warmer weather. Our party experts have put together some great ideas for both inside and outside to help you celebrate the change in seasons.
Get Outside!
Take a nature walk. Pack your water, trail mix, and head to your favorite local trail. Take samples of interesting plants (you may want to consult a local guide to identify poisonous plants). Once you get home you can press them in between wax paper and create a “nature scrapbook.”
Head to the beach. Tide pools are fun for kids to explore. They can touch sea anemones and see tiny crabs scattering around. Not to mention running along side the surf is very relaxing and fun!
Plant a vegetable garden. If you are new to gardening just pick a few things to grow. With a littel work, you can yield a delicious variety of veggies to snack on all summer long!
April Showers? Bring Spring Inside
Coffee filter butterflies. These cute little butterflies are easy to create. You can make a great spring mobile to hang inside.
Egg-cellent Eggs! Let the kids create their own egg plants. Carefully crack an egg near the top (try tapping with a spoon gently as you turn the egg.) empty out the shell. The fill the larger portion with some potting soil. Sprinkle in some grass seeds and set in area that gets plenty of sun. Soon the egg cups will be sprouting up green.
Spring Cleaning Reward. Divvy up the chores that need attending to as spring gets in full swing. End the day with a great picnic in the park and play a game of baseball or basketball. Sweeten the deal by a trip to the local ice cream shop.
Enjoy the turn of the season. Take advantage of the longer days and the warmer weather!
