If you are throwing a Dora Theme kids birthday party, you are going to needs some great party games and activity ideas!  We’ve put together some great games and activities for your explorers to enjoy at your birthday expedition.

Create a Scavenger Hunt

What does Dora do best?  Explore of course.  Creat a fun little exploration for the kids to participate in.  Here’s how to organize it:

  • Make a map of the route you’d like them to take (i.e. your upstairs or backyard etc.) make a copy for each child.
  • Hide various treasures for them to find like these great little toys: telescopes, dora tattoos, mini monkeys, explorer hats, dora stickers, and whatever else you think would be good for your explorers.
  • Make sure each child has their backpack they made (see directions below) to collect all their treasures
  • At the end of the treasure hunt, let them take turns wth the Dora Pinata for even more treasure to add to their packs!

Create Your Own Backpack

Dora never goes on an exploration without her backpack.  A great activity is to let the kids make their own backpacks fo the treasure hunt. 

  • Set up a ‘creation station’ complete with markers, crayons, stickers, glitter and any other fun decorating supply you think would be good
  • Have a large manila envelope for each child
  • Have several spools of curling ribbon to create the backpack straps
  • You may want to create one example of a finished backpack for the kids to look at.
  • Let the kids decorate their backpacks.  Make sure everyone writes their names on theirs!
  • Once they’ve finished decorating them, have an adult help make the backpack straps
  • Simply cut the ribbon long enought to fit somewhat snuggly around the child’s shouluders (like a real backpack)
  • Staple each end of the ribbon to the manila envelope near the edges. 
  • Now each child has a personalized Dora backpack for all their treasures and treats.
  • You may want to make an example of a finished backpack
