Your little construction workers are sure to work up an appetite working and playing hard all afternoon. Our party experts have come up with great party food ideas for your construction theme party. When break time arrives for these hard workers, you’ll be armed with great snacks for them.

Construction Site Cake
Bake a simple chocolate sheet cake. Decorate the outside like a construction zone, complete with mini orange cones, street signs etc. Take a small bulldozer toy and place it near one of the cake’s edges. Dig out a part of the cake to reveal the “dirt”. Kids will love this real construction scene!
Construction Cut Outs
Make a variety of sandwiches (turkey, cheese, tuna) and cut them out with truck shaped cookie cutters.
Snacks In A Hard Hat
Purchase and inexpensive hard hat and turn upside down on the table. Fill with finger foods like chips, popcorn and trail mix. You can also serve these type of snacks in an open metal lunch box.
Corkscrew Pasta Salad
Make a pasta salad with corkscrew shaped pasta.
Cones and Crackers
Slice up some cheddar cheese into triangles (cones) and serve with your favorite crackers.
Dump Truck Brownies
Find an medium sized dump truck for your buffet table. Fill the bed of the truck with delicious brownie treats. It looks like a truck filled with dirt but is really a chocolate treat!
Pop Rock Punch
Create a party punch with a special wow factor. Once the punch is served top off with a sprinkle of pop rocks candy. Kids will enjoy all the popping and fizzing action.
Break Time
If you want to really give a construction type feel, put together sandwiches, chips and a piece of fruit in all in a brown paper sack. Hand a lunch sack out to each of the party goers at “break time”. You can still stock a buffet table with chips, cheese and crackers and other finger foods. And of course dessert!
